Glazing seals
Glazing seals play a key role in the manufacture and renovation of windows, doors and façade elements. They ensure a permanently tight seal between the glass and the frame, prevent the ingress of driving rain, draughts and dirt, and thus make a decisive contribution to the energy efficiency, sound insulation and durability of the entire structure. Thanks to their precise design, they also stabilise the glass elements and ensure even pressure equalisation between the glass and the frame.
Precision and functional reliability
Our glazing seals are manufactured on state-of-the-art extrusion lines and meet the highest quality standards. Precise profile geometries and strict dimensional tolerances ensure that the seals fit perfectly and perform reliably for many years. All seals are produced in accordance with DIN 16941 / 3302 and are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. This enables us to guarantee precision, sustainability and consistently high quality.
Material selection for glazing seals
We offer seals made from three different materials to meet the varying requirements of glazing systems:
- PVC (polyvinyl chloride) – economical, easy to maintain and robust, ideal for standard applications.
- TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) – flexible, temperature-resistant, with excellent resilience and a long service life.
- Silicone – highly resistant to UV radiation and weathering, permanently elastic even at extreme temperatures; the first choice for demanding applications.
Colours and special colours
Our standard colours are black, white, brown, grey, beige and transparent. In addition, a wide range of special colours are available: anthracite grey, light grey, window grey, basalt grey and papyrus white. For production quantities of 200 metres or more, almost any RAL colour can be produced. This allows glazing seals to be integrated perfectly into any frame and façade design.
Variants and models
The range includes various variants, which are available depending on the profile series:
- Talcum-coated – facilitates installation and reduces friction.
- Self-lubricating – improves closing comfort and extends service life.
- with anti-stretch thread – stabilises the seal and prevents length changes during installation and use.
A special model is the Wolff double-web plate, which was developed for special glazing systems with high requirements and increases both stability and sealing quality.
Application and processing
For proper installation, the contact surfaces should be clean, dry and free of grease. The seal should be inserted evenly and checked to ensure it fits correctly. Variants with anti-stretch thread simplify processing, as they retain their length even when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Regular visual inspections and simple cleaning with a mild detergent further extend the service life.
